AIFE is seeking an Academic Discipline Coordinator for IT and Computer Science. This is a key academic role that leads discipline curriculum, teaching quality and student readiness across AIFE programs delivered in Australia and China.
This role suits a passionate educator with strong disciplinary knowledge and a commitment to high quality academic practice. Note this position requires significant internation travel and has an onsite working arrangement in Surrey Hills

The Academic Affairs Division oversees curriculum design, academic delivery, digital learning, student experience, quality assurance and partner engagement.
The Opportunity
The Academic Discipline Coordinator for IT and Computer Science is responsible for shaping and delivering discipline curriculum across AIFE’s qualifying programs and international credit courses. The role includes:
1. Teaching and Learning Excellence
Teach Computer Science and ICT across qualifying programs and international credit courses
Deliver both online and on campus in Australia and in China
Build student capability in academic English and discipline foundations
2. Curriculum Development and Review
Ensure discipline material in AEAP meets partner standards
Review and refresh IT subjects in the Bachelor Qualifying Program
Review and refresh Master and Doctoral Qualifying Program content for AQF alignment
3. Academic Coordination and Operations
Coordinate discipline delivery with AIFE staff and Chinese partner academics
Support scheduling of teaching visits and academic activities
Prepare reports and contribute to review and improvement processes
4. Data and Continuous Improvement
Analyse student outcomes and progression data
Identify trends and help drive quality enhancement and academic integrity
5. International Engagement
Travel to China at least 10 weeks a year, to deliver sessions to partner universities and represent AIFE at academic meetings and collaborative forums
Why This Role Matters
You will directly support the success of students transitioning from China into global university programs. This role combines teaching, academic leadership, curriculum design, international collaboration and opportunities for ongoing disciplinary research.
You will help students build confidence and capability as they prepare for study in English across a range of STEM fields.
About You
You are a capable educator with strong disciplinary grounding and a commitment to student success. You bring:
A PhD in Computer Science, ICT or a related discipline
At least five years of substantial tertiary teaching experience
Experience coordinating and leading subjects and leading academic teams
Evidence of disciplinary research or scholarship (desirable)
Ability to update curriculum in fast moving tech fields
Experience with digital learning platforms and blended delivery
Capacity to work well with cross cultural partners and ability and willingness to travel internationally
Experience working in China or interest in developing capability in this area
Candidates with strong industry leadership experience combined with teaching and research activity are also encouraged to apply.
