About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organisation maintains full compliance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Standards for RTOs and the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) Higher Education Standards Framework.
This role monitors regulatory obligations, supports continuous improvement, and ensures the organisation’s policies, procedures, training, assessment, and reporting activities meet regulatory requirements. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, driving meaningful collaboration and supporting AEMG’s global objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

TEQSA Compliance:

  • Monitor, interpret, and implement compliance requirements under the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.

  • Support the development, review, and update of higher education academic and operational policies.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Provider Registration, Course Accreditation, and Quality Assurance obligations.

  • Contribute to TEQSA reporting (e.g., PIR, Student Data Reporting via TCSI, Annual Declarations).

ASQA Compliance:

  • Monitor, interpret, and implement requirements under the Standards for RTOs 2015 (and updated 2025 Standards when applicable).

  • Assist in preparing and submitting applications, notifications, annual declarations, and audits.

  • Maintain and update the RTO’s policies and procedures to ensure alignment with ASQA regulations.

  • Support trainers, assessors, and managers to meet vocational education and training (VET) compliance obligations.

  • Coordinate internal audits of training and assessment practices, marketing materials, enrolment forms, and student records.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Business, Quality Assurance, Compliance, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience managing compliance in an RTO or Higher Education Provider.

  • Strong understanding of ASQA Standards for RTOs and TEQSA Higher Education Standards.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Ability to interpret legislation, standards, and guidelines.

  • Familiarity with student management systems (e.g., VETtrak, Meshed) preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
