AEMG’s Academic Affairs Division

The Academic Affairs division leads the overall design, delivery and quality assurance of AEMG’s academic programs. It oversees academic operations, student experience, and partner academic engagement, ensuring programs meet both internal and external academic and compliance standards. The Academic Affairs Division consists of the following departments:

Registrar Office

The Registrar Office oversees academic records, student registration, timetabling and course progression, ensuring academic administration aligns with partner university standards and regulatory compliance.

Cloud Campus

Cloud Campus is AEMG’s digital academic platform, supporting both online program delivery and integrated academic operations. The department is responsible for system development, digital pedagogy, platform support, content management & delivery.

Academic Operations

Academic Operations manages the implementation and coordination of academic programs across delivery locations, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning outcomes and alignment with global partner requirements.

Student Success

The Student Success team supports the learning journey and wellbeing of AEMG students through academic guidance, engagement initiatives and pastoral care, with a focus on retention, satisfaction and outcomes.

Graduate Institute

The Graduate Institute focuses on supporting graduates from AEMG programs. It builds alumni networks, develops pathways to further study or employment and facilitates transition into global opportunities.

Registered Training Organisation

The RTO division is a nationally recognised training body responsible for the delivery of vocational education and training (VET) programs. It ensures compliance with ASQA standards and industry requirements.

Quality & Compliance

The Quality & Compliance team ensures academic and regulatory compliance across all education delivery, managing audits, policy standards, partner agreements and risk controls to maintain academic integrity and accreditation.

About the Position

The Educational Designer is responsible for designing, developing and enhancing digital learning experiences across AEMG’s Cloud Campus platform. This role supports the transformation of academic content into engaging, accessible and pedagogically sound digital formats that reflect best practice in online education.

Working closely with academic leaders, subject matter experts and technical teams, the Educational Designer plays a critical role in enabling high-quality online and blended learning across AEMG’s transnational programs. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices by embedding evidence-based design principles and instructional innovation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Learning Design & Digital Development

▪ Design and develop online and blended learning experiences, including interactive learning modules, digital resources and assessment activities

▪ Apply best practice principles in instructional design, accessibility, and digital pedagogy to all course materials

▪ Work with academics to transform curriculum content into structured, learner-centred formats that align with learning outcomes

2. Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts

▪ Liaise with academic coordinators and teaching staff to co-design effective online delivery models

▪ Provide pedagogical advice on course structure, engagement strategies and use of educational technologies

▪ Facilitate content planning workshops and learning design consultations

3. Platform & LMS Integration

▪ Build and organise course materials within AEMG’s learning management system (e.g. Moodle, Canvas)

▪ Embed multimedia, H5P elements, quizzes, and interactive content to support active learning

▪ Test and troubleshoot functionality, ensuring alignment with digital platform capabilities

4. Quality Enhancement & Innovation

▪ Contribute to quality assurance processes, ensuring learning experiences meet Cloud Campus and academic standards

▪ Explore and implement new learning technologies and tools that enhance teaching effectiveness and learner engagement

▪ Gather and respond to user feedback on course usability, accessibility, and instructional clarity

5. Training & Support

▪ Develop guidelines, templates, and documentation to support teaching staff in using learning design tools

▪ Provide training and onboarding to academic staff engaging with digital learning delivery

▪ Collaborate with the Cloud Campus and Academic Affairs teams to embed a culture of digital learning excellence

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in designing and developing digital learning resources and online courses

  • Strong understanding of instructional design models, online pedagogy and accessibility principles

  •  Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas) and digital content tools (e.g., Articulate, H5P, Adobe, SCORM)

  • Experience working with academic staff or subject matter experts in a higher education or transnational education context

  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multicultural environment
  • Familiarity with quality assurance standards in digital learning is desirable
