AEMG’s Academic Affairs Division

The Academic Affairs division leads the overall design, delivery and quality assurance of AEMG’s academic programs. It oversees academic operations, student experience, and partner academic engagement, ensuring programs meet both internal and external academic and compliance standards. The Academic Affairs Division consists of the following departments:

Registrar Office

The Registrar Office oversees academic records, student registration, timetabling and course progression, ensuring academic administration aligns with partner university standards and regulatory compliance.

Cloud Campus

Cloud Campus is AEMG’s digital academic platform, supporting both online program delivery and integrated academic operations. The department is responsible for system development, digital pedagogy, platform support, content management & delivery.

Academic Operations

Academic Operations manages the implementation and coordination of academic programs across delivery locations, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning outcomes and alignment with global partner requirements.

Student Success

The Student Success team supports the learning journey and wellbeing of AEMG students through academic guidance, engagement initiatives and pastoral care, with a focus on retention, satisfaction and outcomes.

Graduate Institute

The Graduate Institute focuses on supporting graduates from AEMG programs. It builds alumni networks, develops pathways to further study or employment and facilitates transition into global opportunities.

Registered Training Organisation

The RTO division is a nationally recognised training body responsible for the delivery of vocational education and training (VET) programs. It ensures compliance with ASQA standards and industry requirements.

Quality & Compliance

The Quality & Compliance team ensures academic and regulatory compliance across all education delivery, managing audits, policy standards, partner agreements and risk controls to maintain academic integrity and accreditation.

About the Position

The Foreign Teacher Support and Administration Manager plays a central role in the coordination, logistics, administration, and welfare oversight of AEMG’s foreign teaching staff deployed across partner institutions in China and other relevant regions. This role ensures that foreign teachers are effectively onboarded, supported throughout their placement, and consistently aligned with AEMG’s academic expectations, quality standards, and institutional requirements.

Reporting to the Associate Executive Dean – Graduate Institute / Dean of CAL, the role works closely with AEMG’s Teaching Management team in China to support contractual compliance, performance monitoring, and teacher wellbeing, acting as a key point of liaison between teachers, AEMG management, and host universities.

In addition, the role requires close coordination with CAL middle management, including the Head of EAP, Head of ELICOS, and the Director of DEP, serving as a communication bridge between these academic leaders and the Associate Executive Dean. This ensures effective implementation of academic initiatives, alignment with institutional policies, and timely resolution of operational matters.

A critical function of this role is also the management of all NEAS benchmarking documentation, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards through the preparation of reports, audit readiness, and the ongoing quality assurance of teacher deployment and academic delivery across AEMG branches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Foreign Teacher Administration & Contract Management

▪ Oversee the administration of employment contracts for all foreign teaching staff, ensuring alignment with AEMG standards and host university requirements

▪ Maintain accurate records of teacher placements, contract details, visa and work permit status

▪ Support the contract renewal process in coordination with HR and local administrators

▪ Ensure onboarding materials and pre-departure information are current and distributed to all teachers

2. Performance Monitoring & Academic Liaison

▪ Work with the Teaching Management team in China to monitor teacher performance, ensure quality of delivery and support resolution of academic or behavioural issues

▪ Coordinate annual or term-based performance reviews with academic and administrative stakeholders

▪ Support professional development planning for foreign teachers as appropriate

▪ Collaborate with CAL middle management (Head of EAP, Head of ELICOS, Director of DEP) to ensure alignment of teaching performance with academic expectations

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Department Liaison

▪ Act as a liaison between AEMG senior management, academic coordinators, foreign teachers and university representatives

▪ Facilitate smooth communication between CAL, the Registrar, Academic Operations, and P&C teams in matters related to teacher management

▪ Provide timely responses and support to teacher queries or concerns

4. Compliance, Welfare & Risk Management

▪ Ensure teacher compliance with university regulations, classroom expectations and professional conduct requirements

▪ Maintain a consistent understanding of changes in university policies that affect teacher engagement

▪ Address welfare issues and escalate risk-related matters where required in collaboration with the People & Culture and Academic Affairs teams

5. Reporting, Benchmarking & Process Improvement

▪ Prepare regular updates and reports to the Associate Executive Dean on staffing, performance and issues requiring escalation

▪ Maintain and review standard operating procedures related to teacher recruitment, administration and ongoing support

▪ Identify areas for process improvement and propose system changes for efficiency and teacher satisfaction

▪ Support audit readiness and ensure alignment with NEAS quality assurance standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field

  • Experience in international education, HR administration or teacher support functions, preferably in a cross-cultural context

  • Understanding of Chinese university systems and familiarity with the challenges faced by foreign teachers in transnational settings

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain diplomatic, professional communications

  • Strong administrative, documentation and coordination skills

  • High-level written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Mandarin is desirable

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global, remote or distributed team
