The Academic Affairs division leads the overall design, delivery and quality assurance of AEMG’s academic programs. It oversees academic operations, student experience, and partner academic engagement, ensuring programs meet both internal and external academic and compliance standards. The Academic Affairs Division consists of the following departments:
Registrar Office
The Registrar Office oversees academic records, student registration, timetabling and course progression, ensuring academic administration aligns with partner university standards and regulatory compliance.
Cloud Campus
Cloud Campus is AEMG’s digital academic platform, supporting both online program delivery and integrated academic operations. The department is responsible for system development, digital pedagogy, platform support, content management & delivery.
Academic Operations
Academic Operations manages the implementation and coordination of academic programs across delivery locations, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning outcomes and alignment with global partner requirements.
Student Success
The Student Success team supports the learning journey and wellbeing of AEMG students through academic guidance, engagement initiatives and pastoral care, with a focus on retention, satisfaction and outcomes.
Graduate Institute
The Graduate Institute focuses on supporting graduates from AEMG programs. It builds alumni networks, develops pathways to further study or employment and facilitates transition into global opportunities.
Registered Training Organisation
The RTO division is a nationally recognised training body responsible for the delivery of vocational education and training (VET) programs. It ensures compliance with ASQA standards and industry requirements.
Quality & Compliance
The Quality & Compliance team ensures academic and regulatory compliance across all education delivery, managing audits, policy standards, partner agreements and risk controls to maintain academic integrity and accreditation.
The Head of Studies – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is a senior academic role responsible for leading the design, delivery, and quality assurance of EAP programs aimed at preparing students for success in English-medium academic study. This position ensures that the curriculum is pedagogically sound, aligned with institutional academic standards, and responsive to the linguistic and academic skills required in higher education.
Reporting to the Academic Director or Head of School, the Director of Studies leads a team of EAP instructors, coordinates curriculum development and assessment practices, and works collaboratively with university stakeholders to support smooth student progression from pathway programs into undergraduate or postgraduate degrees.
1. Curriculum Management:
▪ Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of EAP curriculum frameworks and teaching methodologies.
▪ Ensure curriculum alignment with academic standards, accreditation requirements, and learning outcomes.
▪ Lead innovation in teaching practices and integration of educational technologies.
▪ Collaborate with discipline lecturers and coordinators to align EAP and ACW (Academic Content Workshops) course content.
2. Faculty Coordination:
▪ Supervise the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of EAP Master Teachers and faculty members.
▪ Foster a collaborative culture among coordinators and educators to enhance teaching quality.
▪ Facilitate training sessions to ensure branches are equipped with the latest educational practices.
3. Student Support:
▪ Oversee the design and implementation of student support programs across branches, focusing on academic success and well-being.
▪ Provide guidance for resolving complex academic and program-related issues.
4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
▪ Implement quality assurance mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AEAP course programs, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to learning outcomes.
▪ Observe teaching in branches and liaise with all Branch Deputy Head and Course leaders, conduct periodic program reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and best practices.
▪ Prepare and analyze academic data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and propose strategies for enhancement.
▪ Other responsibilities in line with the level of the role may be assigned by the Executive Director (Academic Operation) and/or Dean (College of Academic Language).
5. Operational and Team Coordination
▪ Lead and manage a team of EAP Master Teachers, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
▪ Monitor and support course leaders in the delivery of curriculum at individual branches.
Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Doctorate preferred)
Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in higher education
Excellent interpersonal, communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Understanding of Chinese & Global education systems and relevant regulatory policies
Knowledge of academic program development, curriculum design and accreditation processes
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite and a thorough knowledge and experience in Learning Management Systems and educational technologies
